A stunning art nouveau floor in a kitchen in Brooklyn
Clever use of a plain tile to frame an ornate and warm French ceramic encaustic art nouveau tile floor had resulted in the creation of a large centralised, carpet style feature in this Brooklyn, New York kitchen.
The floor, dated 1900, was restored by the Antique Floor Company and supplied with another slightly earlier French tile period floor, which now links the kitchen to a small corridor and utility room.
Spare border tiles have imaginatively been used as splashbacks behind work surfaces adding charm and detail to a period property kitchen and bonding floor and walls together…
