Single border antique French floor – 5.2m2 / 55 sq ft

A small, antique ceramic encaustic French floor, dated 1905, framed by a half size border tile. The field tile is in a fond of primrose blue and the four tile tessellation produces a flowing cereal coloured motif with what appears to be snowdrops present. The more geometric designed border tiles compliment the more fluid field tiles beautifully and give the visual impression of being hand painted. The colours are rich and vibrant and the ceramic is good quality.
