Late 19th century Boch Freres ceramic floor - 6.2m2

A rare find these heritage tiles were manufactured by Boch Freres c.1875-1878 and are a superb handmade ceramic 17cm sq and weighing over 1 kilo / 2.2lbs each. The design is simple, the colours autumnal and the tile surface (which is in relief) perfectly suited for a non-slip environment like a small bathroom, toilet, powder room or patio.  The floor consists of a main field tile and a same size border though sadly we have only managed to reclaim a small number of the borders sufficient to perhaps make a centralised square frame feature.

The floor has cleaned superbly; there are some subtle colour variations amongst the field tiles owing to their handmade batch making process but all adding to their unique charm and the photographs below are of a random section of the floor which arrives ready to relay. As a highly fired tile they can be laid inside or outside of the home and will work very efficiently with underfloor heating systems.

The floor totals 6.2m2 but there are also a significant number of free reject tiles with the floor for keying, using as halves or (should you prefer a rich antique patina) integrating into the floor when laying (c.30+ field tiles and 4 borders)
