Classic chessboard floor with heraldic motif c.1880

A 11.5m2+ / 125 sq ft antique carreaux de ciments hallway floor dated c.1880 with a beautiful, rich time aged patina. These large paves are 20cm sq / 8 inches, 2.5cm / 1 inch thick and weigh over 2kgs / 4 1/2 lbs each. There are three tiles to the floor; a black based heraldic themed tile with a centralised red point and a cereal coloured cross, a plain cereal coloured tile and a more ornate free form border tile taking from the same palette. There are 124 black tiles, 130 plain tiles and 37 border tiles.

Being carreaux de ciments they are suitable for interior use only.
