c.9m2 of 1930's French kitchen tiles
c.9m2 / 97 sq ft of antique French tiles in a salmon, reclaimed from the kitchen of a fermette in Arnay Le Duc, Cote d'Or, Burgundy.
We would date the tiles from the 1930's.
Salmon in colour, these are a small tile, 12mm thick and 12.5 cm sq, with a freckled finish which we think is marble dust in the clay. They are reverse marked with a capital 'D' although we cannot trace the manufacturer and it may be reference to a model number.
The tiles have cleaned well of their old wax and dirt and arrive ready to relay. Some display small edge nibbles and occasional small chips but the high resolution photographs below are an accurate randomly selected representation of the floor.
There are 580 tiles plus some spares, for a total surface in excess of 9m2.
