A small, pretty antique ceramic floor with its original same size border tiles in a vegetal theme of thistles

14.2cm sq tiles, 15mm thick

The floor dates from the early 20th century, pre-1925, and the tiles were manufactured in Maubeuge, France at the Landrecies factory. We have included in the photo gallery a scan of their catalogue and the presentation panel showing the field and border tile as well as a photograph of the factory itself at the turn of the twentieth century.

The floor has cleaned well of its old lime based mortar; a small number of tiles displaying edge nibbles and groutable chips as the high resolution photographs of random section of the tiles shows
