Beautifully tessellating Belgian ceramic floor with triple borders - 11.5m2

An 11.5m2+ / 123 sq ft antique ceramic encaustic Belgian floor complete with its original same size and half size border tiles, which are laid in duplicate. This is a beautifully tessellating floor in a geometric repetition of diamonds with a central vegetal bordered motif. The palette is excellent for distributing light; aqua greens and blues on off-white are complemented by light grey and burgundy. The large borders, taking from the same palette, are lush with their twin styalized flowers and these are framed top and bottom by a simple link motif small border tile in mid grey, mid blue and white. As can be seen in the photographs below, the small border tile is a harmonious replica of the internal frame design of the main field tile. Overall, the floor is ornate but also classical and the styling an endorsement that 'less is more'. 

Manufactured by Ceramiques de Societe Morialme (Morialme being a small town in the Namur Province of southern Belgium) the tiles are 14cm square and +/- 1.25cm thick, with half size borders 14cm x 7cm. Being ceramic encaustic and highly fired the tiles are excellent conductors and retainers of heat and can be used very efficiently with underfloor heating systems. Once laid they do not require sealing and only a regular wash to maintain their beauty.

Tile quantities, give or take one or two:-

Field tiles - 450 - 9m2 / 97 sq ft.

Large border tiles - 70 (plus 3 corner tiles*) - 1.46m2 / 15.7 sq ft or 10.2 linear metres or 33.5 linear feet.

Small border tiles - 115 (plus 7 corner tiles*) - 1.2m2 / 12.8 sq ft. or 16.1 linear metres or  52.8 linear feet.

* The missing corner tiles can be mitre cut from existing borders to create a corner piece.
