9.7m2 - Blue and Burgundy antique French ceramic floor c.1930
A 9.7m2 antique French ceramic floor with a double border tile lay, dated c.1930. The floor has been reclaimed from the reception room of a house in Bethune, northern France, built in the 1930’s.
The 15cm sq tiles, reverse marked ‘B&W’, have cleaned superby. The ceramic is of good quality and the warm cornflower blue and burgundy, the floors principal colours, remain vibrant and as new after 70 years or more.
A more geometrically designed double lay border tile frames the floor, for which only two of the eight corner pieces remain but the others can be mitre cut from either the border run itself or free offcuts supplied.
The floor arrives cleaned and ready to install and can be laid inside or outside of the home. Being ceramic and an excellent conductor and retainer of heat it can be used with underfloor heating systems.
