8m2+ of antique French terracotta tiles - beautiful tones
Reclaimed from a 150+ year old Bresse style farmhouse in a hamlet close to Saint-Martin-en-Bresse, Burgundy, France we present these beautiful antique terracotta tiles.
These handmade tiles are c.16.5cm square and c.2cm thick, though owing to their handmade production there are small variations in both tile size and thickness.
A steam cleaning of each individual tile to remove dirt and wax now reveals a rich antique patina and beautiful tones, with olive, vieux rose, mushroom and mustard all evident on the random sample of the tiles photographed in their cleaned matt state but also wet, so as to replicate their final look once sealed or polished.
The tiles can be laid uniquely in their own space, with suggested 3mm/4mm joints, or they could be the perfect tolerance tile, beautifully framing an antique ceramic or carreaux de ciments to meet the need of a larger surface area.
There are 300 tiles, totalling 8m2+ / 86 sq.ft+ plus free offcuts, which can be used as halves or cuts.
