8m2+ / 86 sq ft of classic geometry with vine leaf borders

8m2+ of antique carreaux de ciments floor tiles c.1900 in a grey, white and black classical tessellation of star and diagonal bands. The 20cm sq field tiles are framed by a same size border tile introducing a dark red to the palette in its trailing vine leaf theme.

This is an antique floor with a rich time worn patina; the tiles have nibbles, small chips and in some cases some surface crackling is apparent. Each 2cm thick, 2 kilo tile has been checked for its quality and the robustness of the tile is not an issue. If you are looking for a beautiful and classical floor that is full of character and that will lay to look like it has been in-situ since 1900 then this is a strong candidate.

Having had old mortar and wax removed the tiles are now in their matt state and will require sealing and or waxing once relaid. Being carreaux de ciments, unless you live in an area where freezing and thawing never occurs the tiles are suitable for internal use only.
