+/- 6m2, small antique French damier floor c.1930
A small, c.6m2, antique French damier floor reclaimed from the kitchen and dining area of a house in Saint Omer in Nord Pas de Calais, along with its sister floor, a link for which can be found below. This pretty and classical floor uses two 14cm sq ceramic tiles, a plain white tile and a rosace field tile in blue, grey, black and white. The design is simple but pure and the layout would suit itself well to a relaying in a kitchen, bathroom or small entrance hall. The tiles are in excellent condition and have cleaned very well. There is a difference in thickness between the plain and rosace tiles owing to them being made by different manufacturers.
Being ceramic encaustic they can be laid inside or outside of the home and work highly efficiently with undefloor heating systems.
