A 12.25m2 antique ceramic floor in a cool palette – early 20th century
A +/- 12.25m2 / 132 sq ft antique ceramic floor produced in the early part of the 20th century. Both the principal field tile and the same size borders, laid back to back, are 14.5cm sq / c.6 inches and 1.5 cm thick.
The design is vegetal and shamelessly indulgent as is the palette, evidenced by the sky blue cross and flower motif separated by stylised leaves. The borders to this floor are particularly beautiful and can be laid either back to back in duplicate, as shown in the photographs, or as single lay to optimise border length. We have only managed to reclaim six border corners from the original floor but the missing ones can be mitre cut given the symmetry of the border tile.
The floor is in good condition, the high resolution photographs below being a random and accurate representation of the whole. A highly fired tile it will work efficiently with underfloor heating systems and can be laid inside or outside of the home. Indeed, the vegetal design and palette lend themselves well to a conservatory, summer house or patio.
Should you wish to increase the size of the floor we have the identical half size border tiles available that can be seen in the CNW catalogue page. Click here for details.
