10.2m2 Octave Colozier ceramic encaustic floor with harlequin borders - 1913
In a symmetrically pure and classically tessellating design of sky blue, mid grey and chocolate on a white base this 10.2m2 French ceramic encaustic floor, dated 1913 and produced by the acclaimed house of Octave Colozier, arrives complete and ready to relay with its original 14cm sq field tiles and same size harlequin border tiles, which take from the same colour palette. The floor has been reclaimed from the entrance hall of a house in Chemault in the Loiret, Centre department of France. As the high resolution photographs show, the tiles have cleaned well and are in good condition, each one having been individually quality controlled and any with chips are supplied free for use as offcuts or for keying by the tiler.
Maintenance:- A regular washing, no sealing is required. Waxing is an option if a satin sheet is desired.
Applications:- Can be used with underfloor heating systems, excellent retainers of heat.
Location:- Can be laid inside the home on floors and/or walls, including all wet space areas, as well as externally e.g. partially covered conservatories, patio's, garden paths, summer houses etc.
Tile quantities, give or take one or two:-
Main field tiles - 465 - 9.1m2 / 98 sq ft
Border tiles* - 45 (6.3 linear metres, 74 linear feet)
* There are no border corner tiles but these can be mitre cut to form corner pieces.
