A glorious art nouveau ceramic in this Hove, Sussex bathroom

A gloriously detailed antique art nouveau ceramic tile has been laid in the loft bathroom of this Hove, Sussex home to stunning effect.

Superbly complimentary with its period slipper bath and walk in shower.

14.5cm square tiles in a pastel palette framed by a double border tile series, the floor was manufactured Societe Anonyme Le Ceramique National, Welkenraedt', a company established at Forges-Les-Chimay in 1892 which later opened a subsidiary in Welkenraedt in 1900. The Welkenraedt factory continued to trade until the mid 1920's so the floor dates between 1900 and 1920.

An excellent execution and lay of the floor, the bathroom exudes calm and class as well as providing a practical, low maintenance solution to cleaning.
