A classic damier with cabachons in this Cheshire pile

The Antique Floor Company were happy to supply these restored antique 14cm square ceramic tiles produced by Carrelages, Pavages Ceramiques Ste Maxence (Oise) in the early part of the 20th century.

The tiles have been relaid in the conservatory of this Cheshire pile, with the black tiles painstakingly cut to cabachons and the wheat cut at each corner to correspond.

These tiles have a warm and antique patina and the tonal variations apparent in the floor, owing to their handmade production, adds charm to the area.

While only relaid months ago the visual impression is of them having been a part of the original construction, gifting harmony but robustness for another 100 years or more.
