Antique ceramic tiles on a Peniche on the Thames

Period antique Belgian ceramic tiles, complete with their original double borders, dating from the early 20th century have been relaid on this large renovated Belgian Peniche now moored on the Thames in central London.

The floor has been relaid on a section of the deck, superbly complimenting the period fittings of the Peniche and providing a unique space for dining, entertaining or simply relaxing.

It is not only visually stunning and harmonious but also a practical, low maintenance solution for wet or muddy feet. Being a highly fired tile their being laid outside presents no problem in high or sub zero temperatures, indeed a number of tiles have also been used on the Peniche as a surround and base for a wood burning stove.

We congratulate the imagination and result!
