A 15m2 antique Hemiksem floor in a Surrey home

The 15m2 floor, produced by Gilliot Hemiksem of Belgium in the early part of the last century, has been laid in the kitchen and adjoining hallway and the surplus large borders have been used to great effect as a stand alone tile in the kitchen annexe.

The cool tones of teal, grey, amber and off-white compliment the woods and furniture of the kitchen and the white walls only serve to provide more accent to the floor in the hallway.

A not only impressive lay and finish but a practical one in two high traffic areas of the house.
