A Boch Freres octagon ceramic complete with cabochons

An antique octagon ceramic tile, 15cm wide, in a beige background decorated with black and biscuit coloured scrolling and sky blue flowers

The floor dates from the early part of the 20th century and were manufactured by Ceramiques Boch Freres, Maubeuge. We include in the photograph gallery a scan of the original Boch Freres catalogue presenting the floor.

A 5cm sq (2 inch) floral themed tile, called a cabochon in French, links the octagons together and for ease of laying we have only included the full pieces and not the halves in the photographs.

Framing the floor is a light grey lattice Boch Freres border tile although we have the originally red border tile available, displayed in the catalogue, should that be preferred*.

The high resolution photographs detail a representative section of the floor.

Sold by m2, simply let us know the number of tiles required or, optionally, send key dimensions of your area and we can calculate that for you.

We have reclaimed this floor now on two ocassions, the first having been relaid in a bathroom to stunning effect by a client of ours in Sweden. A link showing photographs the client kindly sent can be found here
