2.3m2 to 20m2+ antique Boch Freres exterior ceramic tiles c.1896

Recovered from a house renovation in the French cathedral city of Bourges, a quality heritage exterior ceramic tile with a relief surface

Manufactured by Boch Freres, Maubeuge in the late 19th century, they appear in the sister company Villeroy and Boch catalogue of 1896 shown in the gallery

17.3cm square they are 32mm / 1 inch thick and weigh 2.4 kgs / 5.3 lbs each

These are a heavy and solid tile, well suited to an external lay on a patio, in a summer house or conservatory, on an entrance path or porch

We have 80 of the solid black tiles available, plus some free rejects for use as spares, but can also supply c.18m2 / 190 sq ft of the damier white and grey tile shown in the photo gallery* should a larger surface be required

The tiles have cleaned well and are in excellent condition, some display edge nibbles and small groutable chips, all contributing to an appealing antque patina

* We have a sister tile reclaimed from the same property, though manufactured in Germany and being 24mm thick. Photographs of the tile can be seen here
