Stunning Boch Freres antique ceramic floor 1900 - 21m2 / 225 sq ft+ (CE148)

Stunning Boch Freres antique ceramic floor 1900 - 21m2 / 225 sq ft+

SOLD   SOLD   SOLD  A superb marriage of tile design genius and quality ceramic can be found in this antique Boch Freres ceramic encaustic floor dated c.1900.

The palette is subtle in mushroom and brown with intricate off white piping and while the design is ornate, indulgent and unmistakingly French the tessellation of the floor produces an exquisite geometry. The floor has been recovered from the reception room of a period maison maitre in Amiens, Picardy. The tiles are 14.7 cm sq, the slip is deep and the colours consistent. In addition to the principal field tile there is the original same size border tile and all four large border corner tiles are present.

The floor has cleaned very well and is in excellent condition, some tiles displaying very small groutable chips and nibbles but being a Boch Freres floor the tiles at 1.5cm thick are heavy and of very good quality.

Tile quantities, give or take one or two:-

FIELD –  900+
