6m2+ / 65 sq ft antique Belgian carreaux de ciments c.1900 (CM20)
SOLD SOLD SOLD A small antique Belgian carreaux de ciments floor, of 17cm sq tiles, with original lattice themed same size border tiles recovered from a small entrance hallway of a house in Namur, Belgium. The floor was laid so that the borders were horizontal runs, so no corner pieces are present but given their geometry they could be mitre cut to create corner pieces.
The floor design is based on a repeating cross and floral motif, popular in the period. The palette is royal blue, olive and burnt red on a tile fond of beige and the colours remain crisp while displaying a lovely aged patina as the photographs detail.
Being a cured rather than a fired tile they are only suitable for outdoor laying if there is no risk of sub-zero temperatures in your area. The tiles arrive cleaned and ready to relay and will require sealing and/or waxing once laid.
6m2 plus free offcuts for cutting and keying.
